About Us
FRESHLY GROWN AT OUR FARM IN FREEDOM
Local food is a crucial element of a sustainable and resilient food system, ideally with food that is grown, processed, and consumed within a relatively small geographic area. While we supply local restaurant and markets in New England our fresh products, we store and ship our cold hardy seed garlic nationwide*.

OUR PRACTICES
The Sicilian Farmer is a Licensed Producer and Dealer of Nursery Stock in the State of Maine and Certified Organic by MOFGA. All of our Seed Garlic varieties have tested negative for garlic bloat nematode, white mold, and botrytis. Garlic seed ships in October with a 2-1/8″ minimum bulb size.
ABOUT ME
After operating restaurants in Boston for ten years I decided to buy land in the countryside of Maine and start farming. The farm was established in Freedom, Maine in 2020 and our e-commerce store in 2023.
